The Clean Floor

It has been a long time since my last blog.  I named 2015 the year of Precision and it has been proven to me that much Decision, Aim and Preparation come before Precision can be achieved.  Many changes have taken place with an avalanche of emotions but there is a balance in my heart assuring me that I have taken aim at the correct target.

I resigned my position as the assistant.  Losing my boss, Vicki, brought clarity that it was time for me to change direction.  I prayed, I decided, took aim and now my life path is different.

Now I clean floors – but that is not all there is much more to my new life than that.  I now have multiple clients, lots of paperwork, taxes and payroll but I also have time to get up, move and work with my hands.

So what is the point to this blog from out of the blue?

Well, Yesterday I cleaned the floors at one of my client’s stores and today I stopped to admire the shine.  Suddenly I was overwhelmed at how much time and effort we can put into something to make it shine……

.but we can loose sight that the purpose of it is not to shine but to be walked on.

What?

Hang with me just a minute……… the first customer that walks in here will bring dirt and dust on their feet – the purpose of the floor is for them to walk in here – not for it to be clean and shiny.

So much of what we do in this life is just maintaining the “floor”… to prepare it for the next step.

The floor is not the focus, it’s the people who walk in – they are the focus – or at least they should be.

Thanks for reading – it was nice for God to drop this little nugget on my heart today.  It has been a long time since I felt a nudge of inspiration to share.

Hope you have an GREAT Tuesday !!

Now back to work……
